Named after a traditional West Cork work boat, The Sandboat, is owned by Donal and Celia Levis,
whose family were amongst the last to own and work one of these old sailing sand dredgers on
Beautiful Roaring Water Bay.
Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this traditional pub, where time and tide stand still as you wait for
your pint to settle. Well worth the wait it is, for the quality of the pint here is second to none, and who knows, you may be lucky enough to meet one of the old Sandboat men, who still frequent this long
established hostelry and hear, at first hand the fascinating story of a centuries old way of life that is
now past and gone forever.
