When Louis Fitzgerald refurbished the Laurels, he designed a premises that was modern but kept the traditional feeling, It had an unorthodox layout of split level lounges and bars that added to the character of the pub. The main lounge area is warm and spacious and has a magnificent old stone fireplace. It also has a back bar fitting that was imported in from an antiques dealer in Chicago. The fitting was originally at home in a famous hotel in Chicago that Al Capone ran his business from. The upper lounge while also keeping the traditional feel is where you can here some of the best live music in Dublin at the weekends. The public bar located at the rear of the building is full of the old Clondalkin character with senior barman Kieran Gavin still holding the reigns after 25 years. Here you can enjoy a range of sports on the TV’s including the old favourite “horse racing”.
