Kealys Seafood Bar has been family run since its inception in 1989, the year that James and Tricia Kealy, with young family in tow, returned to his childhood home in Greencastle, together transforming it from the pub his parents had run into the perfect site to put into practice all they had learned from their years working in the cooking and hospitality Industry.
From the beginning, the philosophy has been one of responding to our immediate environment. This is why we are a seafood restaurant, as it just would not make sense to be anything else with the freshest of fish available literally 20 feet from our front door at the Greencastle harbour. Though we source all of our ingredients as locally as possible, our changing menus reflect influences from much further afield and are informed by well-travelled taste-buds.
All of this we strive to provide in an environment that is relaxed and friendly — in other words, we want to give you the kind of night that we would want for ourselves.
