The Black Lion can trace its roots back to an original Inn and Coach house established on the site in 1734. Located in what was then a densely wooded area the Inn seen its fair share of robbers and highwaymen.
A popular overnight rest stop for the weary travelers it was known then as it is now for its friendliness and hospitality.
The Black Lion today is still rich in tradition and steeped in local heritage
