About Bierhaus:

Visitors to Galway may wish to find their way to the Bierhaus, opened in 2005 at an established licensed premises at the bottom of Henry Street in Galway’s ‘West End.’ The young owners, Jack Considine and Conor Lynam, are aficionados of craft beer, contemporary music, and friendly conversation.

The well-lit, easygoing Bierhaus is now a popular haunt of Galway’s contemporary art scene. It has twenty beers on tap, over 60 craft beers on offer, and the best of the current breed of Irish craft breweries. The mid-week ambience is cosy; the weekends, lively (the new menu of American-style cocktails is popular with ladies), and the staff both friendly and knowledgeable. A recent pleasant addition to the Bierhaus is an open ‘Entrepans’ kitchen by the street-side window.

Its hot ‘Bamh Mi’—a Vietnamese pork sandwich—some call the ‘best sandwich in Galway.’ Others think the grilled cheese is still better. Who are those people you see amiably talking with one another in the Bierhaus?

They could be band members, unemployed postgraduates, a famous sculptor, a Russian tailor, lecturers using the WIFI, plasterers, hipsters drinking freshly-filtered coffee, a fashion model and her best friend, a retired professor of German, young writers work-shopping, free-floating internationals.

All of them individuals.
