McGinns Bar and restaurant was housed in an old cut stone building dating from the 1800's which many Galwegians will remember as Padraigs. Padraigs was an early opening house (7am) with the a 6 day opening licence which still applies here so its not open on Sundays The building itself is well known due to it being the birthplace of Galway writer Padraig O'Conaire. The premises also operated as Sheridans for a number of years and some of the best points of Sheridans have been carried on such as a great selection of wines and beers plus a decent food menu.
