About Daniel Bolands: 

The Boland family business was originally established in Kildare in 1895 when Daniel Boland purchased a small two roomed thatch cottage in Kildare Town’s bustling Market Square.

In the early years Daniel Boland’s new business ( general merchant’s ) prospered and expanded rapidly, Daniel quickly realised that the two roomed cottage was to small and set about building a larger premises ( current premises ) on the same site.

Through out the decades Daniel Boland’s has evolved and has been continuously refurbished and today offers customers high quality food and drinks in an informal lounge setting.

It is this attention to detail and customer needs which has won Daniel Boland’s many awards through the years including : Black and White Award, The Cork Dry Gin / Licensing World Pub Enterprise Award, and The Dining Pub of The Year Award.

Our renouned Bar Menu operates from 11a.m. to 4p.m.
everyday, we serve everything from light snacks to main course meals, the most expensive item on our menu is €12.50.
We cater for all ages and offer a dedicated childres menu.

Our multi-cultural culninary team produce “ home style “ meals and insist all ingredients are sourced locally where possible and only the finest quality is accepted.

Our current wine offer is all bottles house wine for €9.95 during weekend lunch service, this offer includes : Santa Rita 120, Wolf Blass, Concha Y Toro and Mc Guigan Black Label.

We are “ wheelchair accessible “ ( excuding toilets) and have the capacity to cater for large groups - it is advisable to contact us in advance to confirm capacity is available.

There are many Cultural attractions to interest visitors to the Daniel Boland close to the premises.

Directly outside the Daniel Boland is the Market Square Plaza, a pedestrianised area this Plaza hosts the Kildare Heritage Centre / Tourist Office, there are also several historic monuments and several original Market Square features – the Horse Drinking Trough and original Water Well both dating from the 1800’s.

In one corner of the Market Square is Saint Brigids Cathedral and Round Tower ( accessible to roof level ), both buildings have been fully restored. The Round Tower stands at over thirty metres high and its climb is an ideal aesthetic activity to coincide with your visit to Daniel Boland.

Nearby is the Kildare Village ( Outlet Shopping ) , a free shuttle bus will bring you from outside the Daniel Boland directly to this location, an ideal shopping destination for the discerning bargain hunter.

Slightly further away is The National Stud and Japanese Gardens, here an education in equine matters awaits while peaceful serenity of The Japanese Gardens is ideal for those wishing to escape the “ hum drum ” of everyday life. A free shuttle bus will bring you directly from outside The Daniel Boland.
