About Dec's Bar:

Dec’s Bar is owned by Declan and Stephanie Phelan, who run the Pub in the family traditional way where one of us is there to meet our customers at all times. But we regard all our customers (young and old) as friends who have just dropped in for a chat or bit of craic. The premises is a fine two storey building which houses our Pub and Off-Licence.

When entering the Pub you are greeted by a large open fire with free standing seating arrangements to make a small group or larger group. The bar counter is on theright and this is the soul of the Pub. Further into the Pub is another seated area with leather couches which is a more quaint area ideal for that private chat or kiss!

Then we have the pool room, a south facing beer garden with landscaped gardening to enjoy those sunny evenings and lastly we have a heated smoking area, complete with a working Rayburn cooker. All these combine to make our Pub an ideal location to drop in and have a drink.

Durrow is a small homely town situated half way between Dublin and Cork. It is situated on the banks of the Nore and Erkina rivers and is an ideal location for fishing, with some exceptional walk ways along it’s banks called The Leafy Loop. The town is an ideal location for it is only a stone throws away from four provincial towns – Portlaoise, Kilkenny, Thurles and Carlow. There also are several good value golf courses in the area.
