This traditional family run business is full of character and invites patrons to enjoy an Irish Coffee, a Guinness, a Barry’s Tea or a soda whilst relaxing on the River Maigue patio. The locals are always delighted to share a story and welcome new faces.
The premises are situated 12km from Limerick on the N69 coastal road to Kerry through the port town of Foynes which is famous for the Foynes Flying Boat Museum and home of Irish Coffee.
The bar menu is renowned for its simplicity. It offers healthy locally sourced vegetable soup, organic apple or rhubarb pie, Irish beef and ham on the bone etc served on delicious home-made brown bread. All sporting events can be viewed on the big screen and don’t miss the Hurling and Football All- Ireland days in September. If you have any racing “tips” when there is a meeting at nearby Limerick Racecourse, Greenmount, Patrickswell perhaps you will call and exchange one while watching the live Racing channel.
Amongst the attractions in the area you will find the beautiful heritage town of Adare (8 km), the medieval town of Askeaton (15km), and Curraghchase Forest Park (10 km) where the home of poet Aubrey De Vere still stands.
