The Village Inn or "Nuala's" to the locals is owned by Nuala Mee who is the fifth generation of her family to run this establishment. It was built in the 1700's or possibly earlier and was originally a thatched single storey house until the 1890's when it was converted to a two storey house and slated, hence the low ceilings in the bar.
Its a small rural pub situated in the picturesque village of Ballyorgan surrounded by the beautiful Ballyhoura Mountains. We serve the local community as well as our national and interntional visitors.
Guinness, Smithwicks, Budwieiser and Heineken are on tap and lots of Irish whiskeys and different spirits to whet the palate. Bottled beers, wines and minerals are also served so call in anytime you're thirsty!
Our entertainment usually comes from the local community by way of a "sing-song", traditional musicians playing wonderful music and our local characters telling lots of stories, some true and not so true. We play the traditional card game of "45" on Sunday nights and Monday evenings and these can be lively encounters! We also have a pool room and dart board and smoking area. There is a television in the bar which is only turned on for important sports events such as hurling, rugby, big soccer matches, horse racing and golf. Nuala controls the remote and is an avid hurling and rugby supporter so these come first.
We cater for parties and other events as well as local meetings etc. There is outdoor seating in the summertime with fantastic views of the Ballyhoura Mountains so what better way to enjoy a beer and a friendly chat.
We are a family orientated pub so feel free to call in!
