Clarkes Bar,situated in the town centre of Drogheda is a unique pub dating back to 1900.
The building was constructed in 1850 and the first known Pub License was issued to Thomas Reid in 1900 authorised by the commissioners of Inland Revenue for Ireland and England.
Nano Reid,Irelands foremost visual artist was born in March 1900 and lived on the premises with her Family until 1926 when the pub was sold.
Today the unique features of the interior are still in place along with some wonderful characters who frequent the pub on a daily basis.
The pint of Guinness is the main tipple and its said that no better pint can be had for miles around.
Well worth a visit!
