About The Old Coach Inn:

At the Old Coach Inn we pride ourselves on good food, fine beverages and a friendly service. In doing this we are continuing a long and fine tradition in the premises.

In the 1860’s this site was owned by William Byrne

By 1880 Hugh Hardy, who was prominent in local nationalist politics, ran a licensed premises here. When he died in July 1910 his wife and son took over. That son, better known locally as the legencdary Master Tom Hardy, was principal of Castleblaney Boy's School until 1950s. Customer service was so important that Master Tom always closed the school on Fair

Days in order to keep the open!!

After Hardys came the Haratty family, who ran the business very successfully and built up a loyal customer base for over fifty years.

In 2009, the present owner purchased the premises and developed the restaurant to the present standard.

Today, we can't close the school, but we do continue the tradition of Hardy, Hanratty and Watters in offering our value customers the very best of friendly hospitality!
