Eden House are Winners of the’Bar of the Year’ and nominated in 2013 for ‘Best Local’. We serve award winning food and are headquarters for Marlay Park concerts – we are just across the road. The house itself is steeped in tradition and history. Built in 1753 it was formerly a country Manor House, which along with Highfield Manor, Grange House and Marley House formed part of the extensive townland of Harolds Grange. The Harolds became responsible for the protection of The Pale in the surrounding neighbourhood and were fierce in their guard of it.
The magnificent Victorian house was a private residence until 1976 when it was converted to a pub. In 2006 we took over the Pub and it was our aim to restore and develop the house into its former glory. Working with historians and architects we endeavoured to recreate the unmistakable charm of 18th century manor house complete with a library room, a music room and a drawing room. We restored the original chandelier which hangs in The Drawing room (a sister chandelier to that which hangs in Dublin’s mansion house) and kept many other original pieces including the beautiful Adams fireplace.
Our aim at the Eden House is to give you a local put that has something for all the family.. young & old!
In 2008, The Eden House was crowned Licensing World National Bar of the Year, we also won Best Local Bar.
