The pub hosts the classic, warm invitation of an Irish pub, furthered by a large open fireplace. Our abundent use of natural, solid wood and natural stone tiles helps create an authentic old world charm. An Poc Fada or 'the poc', as it is commonly known, derives its name from a popular hurling competition. This is a contest based in mythology where warriors tested eachother by seeing who could 'poc' (hit) the 'sliotar' (ball) with a hurley the least amount of times to cover a given distance. This competition is still held every year on the Cooley Mountains, Co. Louth. The 'poc' remains a great spot for an after-work get-together, or a lively venue for those wild weekend nights. One of the pubs best features is its fully equipped beer garden.
