The main bar area and dining room behind it have been refurbished in a comfortable traditional style this season and, right at the back, there's a well kept beer garden where customers can drink and eat in the fresh air and away from traffic on fine days. Locals working in the town pop in for a quick, affordable lunch - Soup of the day, such as Parsnip and Carrot perhaps, with ready buttered Bread, and inexpensive hot main course dishes such as Lamb's Liver and Bacon Casserole, Chicken Cordon Bleu or the Beef Olives, all including vegetables and changed daily.
