Dun na Si - Amenity and Heritage Park has been developed as a community based project over a period of almost 30 years. Dun na Si Heritage Park opened its doors in 1985 and has since evolved into a Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann centre of music, dance, history and genealogy for the entire midlands area. It provides classes within the Teach ceoil in dance and traditional music. There is an associated parkland containing a museum of agricultural implements, a traditional fisherman's cottage, a bohain and a hedge school. The heriatge park is a wonderful educational environment in Irish culture and is currently in development to open in an expanded capacity in summer 2014.
